All the fun of college doesn’t end once you graduate and either become a Founder or start working at a sweet startup, at least not if you’re funded by First Round Capital.
Today the VC firm released their annual Holiday video and it features a lip-synced mashup of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call me maybe” and Korean rapper Psy’s “Gangnam” style. Now the music wasn’t exactly Bootie SF material but the firm used both songs to create an awesome pitch that also happened to capture a bit of the fun and dynamism of startup life.
First Round has offices in San Francisco, New York and Philadelphia and their portfolio companies are all over the country. Some of the more notable companies in the First Round portfolio include LA based Grubhub and Eyewear company Warby Parker. Their successful exits include Mint.com and Single Platform among others.
If you’re a Dorm Room CEO with a serious startup and you’re looking for funding, First Round may be the people to call as they recently established a “Dorm Room Fund” to find and fund new startups out in Pennsylvania. Like many other firms, they’ve embraced the dorm room startup culture and are looking to fund talented student entrepreneurs.
